Nepal lost to Afghanistan by three runs in their first match of the Emerging Cup cricket played in Singapore on Saturday.
Chasing 161 runs target, Nepal's batting line-up faltered after losing the 6th wicket even as earlier batsmen put up a competitive show. Caption Paras Khadka collected 60 runs off 62 balls while subas Khakurel contributed 23 runs. Sarad Veseakar and Gyanendra Malla partnered for 24 runs.
Nepal appeared in pretty good shape as they limited the Afghans to a below-average target of 160 runs in the 50 over march with Basanta Regmi taking five wickets. Avinash Karna, Chandra Saud and Sagar Pun took apiece for Nepal.
Nepal have not won a single match against Afghanistan since their win in ACC Trophy in 2004.
