HLPC asks EC to extend voter registration deadline by one more week

The high-level political committee (HLPC) has decided to ask the Election Commission to extend the window period for voter registration by one more week.
A HLPC meeting held on Tuesday decided to the urge EC for extension of the registration deadline so that more voters could be listed, Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh K.C said after the meeting.
The EC is currently carrying out the registration, extending the window period for a week from August 17.
Meanwhile, today's HLPC meeting decided to hold separate talks with Mohan Baidya-led 33-party alliance and Ashok Rai's Federal Socialist Party on Thursday.
