Dahal on Nov 19 polls: It's now or never

UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that Constituent Assembly elections will never happen in Nepal if they are not held on the stipulate date, November 19.

Speaking during an interaction with local people in Janakpur on Tuesday, Dahal said failing to the conduct the elections on November 19 will be to forever miss the opportunity to establish the CA.

"We have to conduct the second CA polls at any cost, as we will not get the third chance to constitute another CA," he said.
The Maoist chairman, who recently announced this plan to contest the upcoming elections from a Mithila constituency, maintained that the elections will not stop even if the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist does not participate.
"Time is running out for November 19 elections. It is better we focus on it rather than engage in fruitless talks," he said hinting at the ongoing talks with Baidya's 33-party alliance.
Dahal, who has been frequently travelling to Terai districts in the past couple of weeks, also claimed that the new CA will prepare the draft of the constitution in six months and it will be promulgated within a year
