KATHMANDU, AUGUST 24, 2013 - The talks between UCPN (Maoist) led by its chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-Maoist headed by its chairman Mohan Baidya ended on Saturday without any progress.
The talks focused on the prospects of round-table conference as proposed by the CPN-Maoist, as well as on the upcoming elections of the second Constituent Assembly on November 19 this year.
"We listened to what the leaders of CPN-Maoist had to say. We think they are not ready to participate in the elections," said UCPN-Maoist leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
The talks were held at Dahal's residence at Lazimpat, Kathmandu. Along with Baidya, CP Gajurel, Deb Gurung and other CPN-Maoist leaders attended the meeting, while from the UCPN (Maoist), Dahal, Shrestha and other leaders participated in the meeting. News Source: Nepalnews.com
