AFC appoints two Nepali referees for SAFF Championship

Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has appointed two Nepali referees for the Eighth SAFF Championship scheduled to be held in the capital from August 31 to September 11.

FIFA referee Sudish Pandey and FIFA assistant referee Naniram Thapa Magar have been selected for the championship from Nepal. This championship will be their debut in the international tournament.

Thailand Jindmai Russamee is the Referee Assessor while there are referees from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

Similarly, there are assistant referees from Maldives, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Saudi Arabia and Jordan for the tournament.

Nepal have been drawn in Group ‘A’ alongside India, Pakistan and Bangladesh while Afghanistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bhutan are in Group ‘B’.
